Lanark Local Flavour Campaign

Lanark Local Flavour
Lanark County Tourism and Eco Perth have teamed up for the Local Flavor Campaign, highlighting one of Lanark County's most valuable resources - our food!
Most recently, www.LanarkLocalFlavour.ca was launched and has since been linking growers and buyers of local food, as well as highlighting local farm gates, farmers' markets, restaurants, bakeries and retailers who all make the effort to source local food.
Over the next month, staff will be working towards the completion of a Culinary Journeys Map, supported by Valley Heartland that will send visitors across Lanark County with local food on their minds. The goal is to have the map published on the www.LanarkLocalFlavour.ca and www.LanarkCountyTourism.ca websites in 2010.
The online map will; pinpoint local food sources as tourism destinations, target travellers from the Ottawa area interested in local food experiences, accommodations, events and attractions. Inclusion in the online version of the map will be free, provided you are a local food purveyor in Lanark County.
Riding on the coattails of the online map's success, plans for production of a printed version of the map are also in the works.
If you are serving up local food in Lanark County and are interested in being a part of the Local Flavour Campaign, please contact Casey Buchanan at cbuchanan@county.lanark.on.ca or by phone at 613-267-4200.
